34/365 Backbreaker

Proof I've still got it.

One day I will show this shot to my grandchildren (or more likely my sisters and friends grandchildren) and be all like, "when I was your age look at what I could do... there is just no comparison with you kids these days, so hunchbacked from sitting in front of a computer everyday of your lives you couldn't even touch your toes if you tried"... oh wait, that mostly described me... oops!

34/365 Backbreaker

I've been thinking about doing something like this ever since the boots photo from last week and quite frankly I love how it turned out :-D

A little admission on the side, I set up the camera and all its settings but had to get my 3rd party assistant (aka mum) to press my shutter remote because well... I can't reliably contort my body into this position in 3 seconds and once in said position I am kind of incapable of doing anything except stand there. So thanks mum.

Rejected 34/365 alternate backbreaker

After my shoot I hung up a black curtain to take some photos mum wanted for her blog and then just as a random experiment decided to take a quick test shot to see how I liked my pose on black. You can see how that turned out in the comments below... damn! I liked it more, only the framing was different (because I really didn't expect to like it so much) and I had accidentally cut off my foot. Too lazy to try again, to adjust the framing and lighting to my satisfaction - and frankly, my back was already starting to feel it, note to self: warm-ups are no longer an optional extra like they were when you were 15 - I decided to stick with the white background for today and re-shoot at some unidentified future point in time.

Sometimes I honestly love what the human body is capable of.

Much love,
D.
